Providing Opportunities for 14-24 Year Olds
The WIOA Youth Program is designed for individuals aged 14 - 24 years old who are not currently attending school and meet specific eligibility criteria. This criteria includes: disability, not completing high school, being justice-involved, homeless, runaway, or in foster care, among others (only need to identify with one of the listed).
Our dedicated staff at the NWWIB provides a range of services including paid and unpaid work experiences, GED tutoring,
occupational skills training, and more to help the next generation achieve their educational and employment goals.

Eligibility Requirements
WIOA programming is available to 14-24 year old
who identify with any of these requirements:
- Individual with a disability
- Did not complete high school
- A high school graduate who is: basic skills deficient; low income, or an English language learner
- Justice Involved
- Homeless, runaway, or foster child
- Pregnant or parenting
- A low-income individual who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an educational program or to secure or hold employment

Yes! WIOA Youth Program can assist you with connecting with apprenticeship opportunities and provide supportive services to assist in your success.

The WIOA Youth Program can assist you with career awareness/exploration, give you experience working on a job, increase your skills, provide you with leadership development opportunities, mentoring, financial literacy education, and more.
No, you do not have to be in high school to be eligible for the WIOA Youth Program. You can either be attending high school, post-secondary school, or not attending school.
Many programs we offer have age requirements. Youth who are in high school (14-18) can receive services through the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA). Youth 18 and older may be eliigible for WIOA and other programs.
