After her release from jail, Ashley faced the overwhelming challenge of starting over. With no money, no transportation, and no support system, she wasn’t sure how she would get back on her feet. That’s when she was connected with Pathways Home 4—a program that quickly became a lifeline in her journey toward stability.
Her case manager, Matthew, helped her get a bus pass so she could attend job interviews—an essential step she wouldn’t have been able to take otherwise. When she landed a job, Pathways Home 4 continued to step in, providing work clothes and shoes so she could start her new role prepared and confident.
Not long after beginning work, Ashley developed an abscessed tooth that forced her to miss several days due to pain and swelling. The dental clinic required a $150 anesthesiology fee before scheduling the extraction—an amount she simply couldn’t afford. Thanks to Pathways Home 4, that fee was covered, and Ashley was able to receive the treatment she needed and return to work.
Pathways Home 4 also helped Ashley obtain her daughter’s birth certificates—critical documents she needed to complete her Douglas County Housing application. She is now officially on the waiting list for housing, a milestone that once felt out of reach.
“I never would have gotten this far, this fast, without the help I received,” Ashley said. “Pathways Home 4was a major step in my rehabilitation and reintegration into society.”
